Aurora Foxes Story: Capturing Authentic Moments in Specialist Education
Capturing Authentic Moments in Specialist Education
Aurora Foxes in Minehead, is a specialist college specifically designed for training young adults aged 16–25 with learning disabilities and complex needs in hospitality and catering. I was there to tell a story of independence, learning, and connection through natural, honest imagery. The students and staff welcomed me warmly, and every photograph reflects their energy, confidence, and teamwork. These images are used across social media, websites, and marketing, helping Aurora Foxes communicate their values and mission visually. It may be a shift from my wedding work, but the heart of it is the same, storytelling, trust, and capturing real emotion.

A few months after a life-altering accident, Ethan invited me to photograph him as he began adjusting to life with prosthetics. He wanted to be seen, not hidden, and to make a statement: This is who I am now.
These first portraits mark the beginning of his journey, taken on the day he was leaving hospital and starting to navigate life independently. They may not be my most polished images, but they hold something far more meaningful: honesty, trust, and Ethan’s quiet strength.
