Ethan’s Story
A few months after a life-altering accident, Ethan invited me to photograph him as he began adjusting to life with prosthetics. He wanted to be seen, not hidden and to make a statement: This is who I am now.
These first portraits mark the beginning of his journey, and I was honoured to be there to capture them. Taken on the day he was leaving the hospital and starting to navigate life on his own, they’re not the most polished images I’ve created, but they hold something far more meaningful: honesty, trust, and Ethan’s quiet strength.
Telling someone’s story is never something I take lightly. Being invited into this moment in Ethan’s life was a privilege, and I’m grateful to continue walking alongside him, camera in hand or not, as his story unfolds.
