RECOMMENDED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Aoife & Nick found me through a recommendation by her friend Lucia, whose lovely intimate wedding I photographed, the year before. Recommended introductions are my favourite ways to be introduced to a couple, as I know that they will have seen my working and creative style when photographing a wedding, and feel totally confident in me.
PINK COLOUR THEME
I loved Aoife & Nick's themes and ideas for their wedding. Lots of lovely personal details most notably - the hot pink colour scheme! Aoife’s bridesmaids were left to interpret “pink” however they pleased, in their own unique styles. I think it is safe to say they understood the assignment! This alternative to unified bridesmaid dresses was so fun to photograph against the lively north London backdrop.
ISLINGTON TOWN HALL WEDDING
Aoife and Nick held their London marriage ceremony at Islington town hall; a fashionable Upper Street venue complete with grand façade and elegant marble staircase. I love photographing at Islington Town Hall, not only is it an informal and photogenic venue, I also know my couples will want to make the most of some wedding street photography in Islington. The choice of location always reflects where a couple feels comfortable, or perhaps where they share a cherished memory and Islington is a special place for these two, so I wanted to capture the couple fully submerged in the urban hustle and bustle.
WEDDING STREET PHOTOGRAPHY
After their guests left on a wedding bus to the Gypsy Queen pub in Kentish Town. The three of us walked along Islington High Street looking for some colourful, urban style places to take a few wedding portraits. We didn't find much pink but we definitely found some vibrant colourful backdrops.
LONDON PUB WEDDING RECEPTION
The couple were showered by confetti upon joining everyone at the pub, and welcomed their evening guests with speeches. I loved hearing how they first met through Nicks' cousin when they were just 15! The Gypsy Queen pub has a great vibe, with still lots of original features, a long galley beer garden filled with colourful murals that fitted perfectly in with the day. This small and intimate ceremony quickly blossomed into a large party with cocktails created and named by Aoife. Though I left as they sat down for dinner, I felt my 3 hours with them all was enough to capture the vibrancy and fun of this day.
Aoife and Nick, thank you for choosing me to photograph your beautiful wedding! I had so much fun being your wedding photographer, I hope you are “tickled pink” with married life 😉
