FESTIVAL STYLE BACK GARDEN MARQUEE WEDDING IN MATLOCK, DERBYSHIRE

MATLOCK WEDDING

If we need to name a theme for a wedding then Harriet & Jack's was "relaxed and carefree". Everything about this Matlock wedding was chilled and thoughtful. From having their ceremony taken by their close friend (the couple had got married the week before in a private civil ceremony with only immediate family) to the marquee in Jack's parents back garden. The setting was stunning with rolling hills (literally rolling) as the back drop and a surprise horse and carriage waiting for them to take them back to the marquee while their friends walked up.

BACK GARDEN OUTDOOR MARQUEE WEDDING

The marquee was beautifully decorated with all the flowers grown by Jack's mum, the cheese cake made by their friend. Harriet & jack were clear that they only want some photographs of the two of them alone so we set aside 10 minutes and took a few away from their guests. I am always conscious that photography has to be exactly how the couple want it and I like nothing more than capturing the candid as well as the slightly directed. The marquee was decorated inside with long tables full of flowers and festival style details. We made sure we captured everything.

THE EVENING PARTY

After speeches and dinner a Kaylee band got the party started, and instead of a first dance, the newlyweds were up line dancing with all their guests involved. The dance floor was packed and the party was full on! This excellent live band had everyone up and dancing which was exactly what Harriet and Jack had planned. I absolutely loved this beautiful day and not least because it was my anniversary day too (sorry Jon I did come back and celebrate with you later).
