I have been photographing weddings for over 15 years. Previously I have had portrait, wedding & travel photographs published in magazines, Sunday supplements and travel books. Travel photography was my love before I had my kids and changed direction towards wedding photography. I actually met my husband in Tokyo where I was working on a project that became an exhibition in London's Yo Sushi!

Realising my travel days were coming to a halt, life took a sudden turn when a friend asked me to photograph their wedding. Although I was terrified by the ultimate pressure of this, my brief was "enjoy it and just capture the day". Which I  did!  I really enjoyed taking informal and relaxed wedding photographs and capturing all the elements of the day.

It really is an honour to be allowed into peoples precious times and feel trusted that I will capture this amazing event along side all the people you care about.  I want to record this story for you to look back on forever in a creative and documentary style, not too different from my travel photography....

Occasionally I get to travel again with weddings abroad and around the UK and in rare moments when I find time, I continue to take photographs for my own personal projects.

There's usually two of us on the day so please take a look at my website gallery & blog to see our photography style. If you like what you see and want to hear more then use my contact form to get in touch and let's arrange a meeting where I can hear all about your plans.

"What should I expect on my wedding day?"

Expect a relaxed and enjoyable experience!

When photographing a wedding I usually work alongside a second photographer - Dana who is also a close friend as we have photographed many weddings together over the last 15 years. Our photography style is creative and natural and most importantly we make you feel relaxed. Our ethos is that you and your guests have the most amazing time, with as little intrusion from us.

We like to make sure that you enjoy the photography on the day as much as we enjoy taking it. Taking candid photographs of you and your guests, the little details such as flowers, table settings, the rings and the concentration needed when putting on a button hole!

"How many photographers are there on the day?"

For the main package there are two photographers. Dana & I work so well together making sure you get the best out of having two photographers, whilst I am photographing the bride getting ready, she is busy capturing great photos of the boys and the guests arriving at the venue. We make having your photograph taken an enjoyable experience and once we have had a short time with you both alone we want to capture the candid moments, some gently directed family groups, the little details such as table decorations and simply record you and your wedding party having a lovely, lovely day.

If your having a smaller intimate wedding then I am always happy to offer a bespoke package with just me photographing your wedding.

"Will you meet up at the venue before the wedding?"

Yes definitely. I always want to get to know you before the day as I know it's important for you to meet me too. I love to hear about all the little details you have planned and any suprises you may have in store for the guests ... or each other! So we always meet up at the venue at some point before your wedding, which could be when you have a food tasting or a meeting arranged. It's always good to say hello again and you can tell me all the final details. When we walk around the venue I will point out places that would work best for photographs of the two of you alone depending on the time of year and weather.

"What happens if it rains?"

Well no matter what the weather app says, us Brits know that any time of the year there is always a chance of rain! Yet this has never stopped us getting some great shots. At the venue meeting I will always discuss alternative places to take photos on the off chance there is a 'spot of rain'. If it has rained the night before then a pair of wedding wellies and umbrella can always make sure we get where we need to go :)

"I have a phobia about having my photograph taken"

It's true I was told this! In fact at most meetings I hear "We never looked relaxed in photographs" or "He always pulls a weird expression when he smiles at the camera". To be honest I much prefer being behind the camera than in front so I totally understand these fears but maybe the combination of  my relaxed approach and that you feel fantastic on your wedding day ensures you both actually enjoy having your photographs taken and look good too.

Some couples prefer to have engagement photographs. It's a chance to get to know me better and realise that having your photograph taken is not at all like "going to the dentist". Engagement shoots are fun and relaxed, we can meet up in a location of your choice and spend an hour or two together taking some beautiful, natural photographs, you can bring your dog along too if you like!
